3.  Elder Eldred G. Smith was ordained Patriarch to the Church on April 10, 1947.  He was named emeritus General Authority on October 6, 1979.  He was born

     on January 9, 1907.  He turned 104 years old on January 9, 2011.  He attended the funeral services of President Gordon B. Hinckley in February of 2008!
