of our current apostles


Listed below are the university and post-graduate works and degrees of our currently-serving apostles.


·        President Thomas S. Monson: President Monson received his B.S. degree from the University of Utah in 1948. The degree was in Business Administration.     President Monson subsequently earned an M.B.A. from Brigham Young University.

·        President Boyd K. Packer: Elder Packer received his B.A. degree from Utah State University. The degree was in Education. He also earned an M.S. degree from Utah State University in the field of education. He next earned his Ed.D doctorate in education from Brigham Young University.

·        Elder L. Tom Perry: Elder Perry received a B.A. degree in Finance from Utah State University. He also did post-graduate work in Business at Utah State University.

·        Elder Russell M Nelson: Elder Nelson received his B.A. from the University of Utah, he earned his M.D. degree from University of Utah, and also a Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota.

·        Elder Dallin H. Oaks: Elder Oaks received his B.A. degree from Brigham Young University, and his J.D. from the University of Chicago.

·        Elder M. Russell Ballard: Elder Ballard did undergraduate work at the University of Utah.

·        Elder Richard G. Scott: Elder Scott received his B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from George Washington University. He earned a Ph.D. equivalent degree in nuclear engineering at the Oakridge School of Reactor Technology.

·        Elder Robert D. Hales: Elder Hales received a Bachelors' Degree from the University of Utah in 1954, and an M.B.A. from Harvard in 1960.

·        Elder Jeffrey R. Holland: Elder Holland received a B.A. in English from Brigham Young University, an M.A. in Religious Education from Brigham Young University, an M.A. in American Studies from Yale University, and a Ph.D. in American Studies from Yale University.

·        Elder Henry B. Eyring: Elder Eyring received a B.S. in Physics from the University of Utah in 1955, an M.A. in Business Administration from Harvard in 1959, and an Ed.D doctorate degree in Business Administration from Harvard in 1963.

·        Elder Dieter F. Uchtdorf: Elder Uchtdorf did undergraduate and postgraduate work in engineering, and served as a pilot and administrator for Lufthansa Airlines.

·        Elder David A. Bednar: Elder Bednar received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from Brigham Young University in 1976. He received his Master of Arts degree in Organizational Communication in 1977 from Brigham Young University. He received his Ph.D. in Organizational Behavior from Purdue University in 1980.

·        Elder Quentin L. Cook:  Elder Cook received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Utah State University in Logan, Utah, and he then received his Juris Doctorate from Stanford University.

·        Elder D. Todd Christofferson:  Elder Christofferson received his Bachelors’ Degree from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, and he then received his Juris Doctorate degree from Duke University in North Carolina.

·        Elder Neil L. Andersen: Elder Andersen received a Bachelors’ Degree at Brigham Young University in 1975, and he then received a Masters’ Degree in Business Administration at Harvard in 1977.
